Hello and Ideas.....
Hi! I'm Michelle from Something New is Cooking. I'm taking over the My Girl, Paula blog starting in December. I wanted to introduce myself. I love to cook and to try new recipes. And, I LOVE Paula Deen! As you can see on my blog, I've been trying new recipes of Paula's. If you want to contact me, you can at msturges220@comcast.net.
Now...I need some feedback from you all. Except for the new "Anything Goes" week, the recipe of the week has been given to us. What I want to know is..
- Do you want to keep making recipes from the same book? Or mix it up?
- Do you want the recipe given to you each week? Or pick a theme?
- Continue "Anything Goes" week?
Let me know what you think! I'd love to hear from you all!

Some News
Hi there everyone. Just want to let you all know that as of December, I am passing this blog over to my friend Michelle at Something New Is Cooking. Since I will be starting the nursing program in January, I don't think I will have the time to keep up with the cooking and the blogging.
I have had so much fun with you all. Michelle will add her e-mail to the "What It's All About" Page. And she will let you know if there are any changes to the rules and such. She is a wonderful person and always has something yummy cooking on her blog.
I hope you all have a wonderful holiday season!!!

Bobby Lightens It Up
I came across some of Paula's recipes that Bobby Deen has made a little lighter for us. There are only a few, but the Gooey Butter Cake recipe is on there and we do have that recipe this month. Just thought I'd share in case anyone was interested. You can find those recipes here on Paula's site.

Just a thought..
Just want to put this out there. One of our members suggested this idea. I understand that many of the recipes that we make can be really high in calories and fat. If any of you would like to lighten the recipes up, you are certainly free to do that.
I wouldn't want to exclude anyone from the group, so I just wanted to let you all know that. I have no problems with some changes to the recipes. ;)

November Recipes

Hi everyone! So sorry that the recipes are so late. As I said in comments, I will give until Wednesday to post the first one. So instead of posting on 11/2, you can have until 11/4.
Thank you for all of your suggestions!
November 2 - Baked Pasta Florentine pg. 70
November 9 - Pepper Steak pg. 77 (Cannot find link)
November 16 - Anything Goes
November 23 - Beef Vegetable Soup pg. 21
November 30 - Pumpkin Goey Cake (Found at Foodnetwork.com)
I know there were people who requested no pumpkin recipes, but I couldn't leave out this suggestion for the Pumpkin Goey Cake. So don't worry about it if you don't want to make it. ;)
